Ecuador Birding Adventures provides you with a unique opportunity to tailor your birding expedition. We make ourselves available to small groups, individuals or pairs. We do not work with large groups which means you get more personalized attention. Contact Us with your desires. To get started, you will need to "Contact-us' and provide us with dates, number in party, birding level, special desires etc... We gladly provide the following services depending on your needs:
 To give you an idea of prices, a few example itineraries have been laid out briefly. Cost will vary depending on duration, distance, needs etc. Example A--8 Day Northwest Birding Tour of Ecuador. This would include opening and closing night in Quito, food and entrance fees. Private transportation and
either Steve or Jim traveling with you. Birding areas in this example would
include the
western slopes (Nono road, Mindo, Milpe, Bellavista and Rio Silanche). Total Cost
$1250 per one person (double occupancy). This option allows you an opportunity to see more than a 'slice of life' within one birding visit. --------------------------------------------------------- Example B--Coastal Tour.... Prices will vary with this one as it depends on the time of the year as whales are only Ecuadorian Waters during the months of June, July, August and Sept. You can combine a birding tour in Mindo or Highlands to go with the coastal birding areas of isla de la plata, Rio Ayampe and Parque Machillila. Isla de la plata has been labeled the 'poor man's Galapogos" **Not included: Gratuities, alcohol, flights, Some lodging and meals depending on your selection. A 50% deposit is required; payable within 30 days of your planned trip.

 TOTAL COSTS will VARY depending on your expedition and your needs. For example in Quito, some people prefer to stay in a Five star hotel while others prefer hostels. For the most part, Steve and Jim are the bird guides. Steve lives in Quito while Jim has been a constant birder in Ecuador since 2006. We have learned and written about the birds of Ecuador and speak English. "Birding' is more than just adding to your life list. We envision birding as experiencing nature, the eco-system and how birds interact with it. We don't pretend to know every bird species found here, as we rely upon our birding skills to ID the birds using guide books, sight, sound and photography. That is half the fun.....it is not just being 'told' what you see, rather, it is the challenge of learning what you have seen. Just being in one area and moving on only gives you a slice of that particular eco-system, and we suggest you spend 'time' within one are. This allows you to actually experience the eco-system over a period of time as opposed to being 'led' from one spot to the next in hopes of finding as many birds as you can spot in 'x' number of days. Contact Us.  Example C--11 Day Ecuador Birding Excursion. which includes lodging (Hostels in Quito days), food and entrance fees. Private transportation and English speaking bird guide daily. Birding areas in this example would include the Highlands (Cotopaxi, Parque Jerusalem, Yanachocha, Guango Lodge) and the western slopes (Nono road, Mindo, Milpe and Rio Silanche). Total Cost $1650 per one person (double occupancy).
