Dr. Jim Lehmann has been a life long birder and has frequented Ecuador since 2006. As past President of a non-profit corporation Center for Research of Whales each year he would bring college students from USA to Ecuador to work on whale research and environmental education. Throughout the year Jim teaches classes for Grand Canyon University and University of Wisconsin--Stout (all on-line) to masters and doctoral candidates in education.
Jim lives and birds in the Pacific Northwest region / USA and in Southern New Jersey but travels to Ecuador to bird the rich eco-system of the highlands and coastal areas.
Steve Herrmann is a professional photographer who currently resides in the Quito area. He grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Steve joined the Air Force in 1967, and it was during these years that his passion for photography grew.
