 Dr. Jim Lehmann has been a life long birder and frequents Ecuador as he is President of a non-profit corporation Center for Research of Whales. Each year he brings college students from USA to Ecuador to work on whale research and environmental education. Jim has birded Ecuador extensively and can work with you on digiscoping techniques ..see his website at: Throughout the year Jim teaches classes for Washington State University and University of Wisconsin--Stout with the majority being online classes and graduate degree programs. Jim lives and birds in the Pacific Northwest region / USA but travels to Ecuador to bird the rich eco-system of the highlands and coastal areas. Steve Herrmann is a professional photographer who currently resides in the Quito area. He grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Steve joined the Air Force in 1967, and it was during these years that his passion for photography grew. Over the next several years he worked as an engineer for various
companies.
Then, in 2000, he followed the call of God and dedicated the
next decade to ministering to children in Ecuador. Steve retired in January, 2010 but remained in Ecuador. Currently he spends his days
photographing the birds and scenery of this beautiful little nation. He
dedicates much of his time writing about the different avi/fauna and
